On November 2 & 3, 2001 basketball scholars, players (past & present), coaches,
journalists, broadcasters, analysts, and fans came together at St. Francis College for a groundbreaking conference. This conference commemorates the centennial year of basketball at St. Francis College, celebrated and analyzed this enormously popular sport, its players and its
contributions to the American scene. The conference connects past and present,
white and black, players and spectators, and traces the evolution of the game that
has taken on such significance in our diverse society.
