The text Lho Ontul Rinpoche teaches contains the essence of all the Mind Training teachings collected and preserved by Jamgon Kontrul. The teachings of Jamgon Kontrul are very special in that they include not just Mahayana but also Vajrayana Mind Training. They contain both the pith instructions on Relative Bodhicitta which show how to transform ordinary daily life into Dharma practice, teachings on absolute Bodhicitta which include instructions to the Nature of Mind, as well as profound instruction on how to train in realizing all experience as the four Kayas. Lho Ontul Rinpoche enjoys giving these teachings because they contain the complete path of Dharma and are very practical for Westerners who lead lives where they must engage in worldly activities such as having jobs and raising families. Jamgon Kontrul was one of the great teachers of 19th century Tibet and was one of the founders of the Tibetan Rime (non-sectarian) movement. Lho Ontul Rinpoche is himself a great Rime Master of our time, with a deep understanding of Westerners.
